In 1953, James N. Letsos, Jr. formed a Houston-based mechanical contracting company to meet the needs of a rapidly growing city. His focus was on building an organization with proven procedures that would provide consistent projects finished on time, within budget. Letsos Company also has an established division for mechanical work that is not considered new construction nor service work. We call this our Special Projects Division. We have developed a full staff of personnel to provide you with professional installation and retrofit capabilities. We have the capabilities to handle any type mechanical project that presents itself. No project is to large or too small.
Our service and special projects department is composed of veteran technicians who are very familiar with institutional, medical and educational facilities. We have successfully completed building and renovating research laboratory buildings Texas Children's Hospital, MD Anderson, Rice University, Baylor College of Medicine and University of Houston. We built and rebuilt Baylor's Vivarium laboratories after tropical storm Allison severely damaged the medical center area. Our staff is thoroughly reviewed before undertaking any proposal opportunity.
Letsos Company has an HVAC TACL license, and a State Master Plumbing and Med Gas. We employ around 300-400 field craftsmen for the following divisions: HVAC Pipefitters, Licensed Plumbers, Sheet Metal Installers, HVAC Service Technicians and Service Plumbers. Our Pipefitters have a 5 year apprenticeship program before becoming a Journeyman. All are certified with the 10 hour OSHA program and most foremen have the 30 hour certification. All our plumbers carry a state Journeyman license and have completed a 5 year apprenticeship with a state certified apprenticeship program. Most of our plumbers are also state license to repair and install medical gas systems, vacuum, pressurized gas, nitrogen and oxygen systems. Most of our plumbers are state of Texas back flow certified to perform backflow gauge annual certifications.
