Representatives invited to legislation, procurement workshop at HCDE

Government officials responsible for facility services, construction and procurement are invited to learn about changes in the law at the Legislation and Procurement Workshop, 10 a.m.–1:30 p.m., Oct. 6, at the Choice Facility Partners/Harris County Department of Education offices, 6005 Westview Dr. in Houston.

Texas Rep. Bill Callegari, District 132, and attorney Sarah W. Langlois, Ogden, Gibson, Broocks, Longoria & Hall, L.L.P. will highlight changes in the law and answer questions about how the changes impact various governmental entities. The changes in the law stemmed from a bill that came from the Texas Government Efficiency and Reform Committee which Rep. Callegari chaired. Langlois maintains an active litigation practice and handles a variety of school law, general commercial litigation, employment law, and insurance matters.

Business managers, operations directors, purchasing professionals, superintendents, finance directors, city managers, public works directors and other individuals directly involved in the management of facilities and procurement are invited to attend. Continuing education units will be awarded to attendees.

Lunch will be provided by Choice Facility Partners vendor partners. Choice Facility Partners contract holders will be available to share information about construction and facility service contracts.

RSVP to Yvonne@choicepartners.org by Oct. 1. For more information about this workshop, call 713-696-1886.
