New Cooperative formed to provide facilities solutions

[HOUSTON] Purchasing departments have a new resource available for building and facility contracts, with the introduction of Choice Facility Partners, a new cooperative formed by the Harris County Department of Education. Choice Facility Partners brings legally and competitively bid building and facility contracts to schools, education-related organizations and other governmental entities statewide. Organizations may access these contracts by signing an interlocal agreement.

Resource areas under contract include Job Order Contracting, turn-key concrete modular buildings, assistance for capital improvement programs representing the building/facility owner and building forensics services. The contracts are competitively pre-bid, so governmental entites can access quality services immediately, saving time and money on the bidding process.

“The districts we serve were interested in quality, quick methods for facility services,” said John Sawyer, HCDE superintendent. “We realized that it would be a valuable service that would save money in facility budgets statewide.”

Whether in a bond program or routine maintenance, school districts, cities and counties may choose from multiple contracts that best meet their needs. CFP audits contract use and performance to ensure quality and customer service.
