Texas owned, and Texas managed, Bosworth Papers has been a supplier to Educational Cooperatives for over 3 decades. We have the service platform to meet your needs. Named after its founder, Lawrence S. Bosworth, the Company was established in the early 1920’s as the LS Bosworth Company.
The Bosworth family ran the Company for many decades before deciding to sell in the early 1970’s. At this time, sales revenues were approximately $800,000 per year. While working in the paper industry, Thomas Jordan heard that the LS Bosworth Company was for sale. After purchasing the company in 1972, the Company was renamed Bosworth Papers, Inc. and focused on supplying printers with paper consumables for the printing industry. In 1984, the Company opened its first walk in store, Bosworth Paper Chase. Selling fine printing paper and envelopes, this satellite store in Houston primarily catered to smaller printers. Shortly thereafter, the Company added graphic printing supplies to support is sales efforts.
Today, the Company represents graphic supply vendors such as Van Son Printing Ink, Graphline, Tokyo Printing Ink, Hurst Graphics, and Lithco. In 1998 the Company expanded operations, opening satellite offices in Austin and San Antonio to provide additional sales, warehousing and distribution capabilities. In 2000, Bosworth Papers, Inc joined the Association of Independent Printing Paper Merchants (AIPPM), and organization of independent paper merchants dedicated to serving the printing community. Through this organization, Bosworth Papers, Inc has been able to expand its product offerings to its customer base, while drawing on the knowledge and expertise of its fellow members, all to the benefit of Bosworth’s customers. In 2006, Bosworth responded to the changing printing marketplace by opening Bosworth Office and Technology Products (OTP). This division was set up to grow the Company’s business-to-business and business to end user segment. In the same year, Bosworth launched multiple online ordering platforms. This enabled the Office and Technology Products division to utilize a separate interface that allows customers to browse, shop and purchase office products from the Company’s online catalogues.
The Company continues to add new product lines to reflect changing tastes in products as well as changes in technology. Currently, the Office and Technology Products division offers: office paper, electronics, computer supplies, color copy papers, furniture general line office supplies, break room and janitorial products.
