New contracts were approved for Retail Electric Energy Providers and for Job Order Contracting for cooperative purchasing through Choice Facility Partners during the May board meeting of Harris County Department of Education, CFP’s sponsoring agency.
Contracts were awarded to Reliant Energy (Texas) and GDF Suez (National/International) for energy providers. Tradition Energy will manage the HCDE Energy Purchasing Program, providing energy management, consulting, procurement and other energy-related services.
Job Order Contracting awards were made to Struhs Commercial Construction for Education Service Center Region 11 (Ft. Worth), Millennium Project Solutions for ESC Region 6 (Huntsville), Baseline Paving and Construction for Galveston County, and KBR for statewide nationwide contracts.
Also during the meeting contract awards were renewed for: Job Order Contracting – Basic IDIQ, Inc., Centennial Contractors Enterprises, Inc., and Fort Bend Mechanical; Building Forensics/Roofing and Waterproofing – Raba Kistner Consultants, Inc.; Commercial Floor Covering – Mannington Commercial; HVAC – GOES Heating Systems, Johnson Controls and Linc Services; Construction Program Management Services – Boyken International, Inc. and The Maddox Group, Inc.; and Whiteboards – CCS Presentation, Hallmark Office Products, and Vanguard Environments.

New organizations that became members when interlocal agreements were approved by the Board of Trustees for HCDE in May include: Austin Community College District, City of Garland, City of The Colony, Edgewood ISD, IDEA Public Schools, Region 17 Education Service Center, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD and Tarrant County College District.
